CERAMIC CORE FIBREGLASS POOLS
The strength of your pool starts beneath the surface.
The strength of your pool starts beneath the surface.
A fibreglass pool spends its entire life holding thousands of litres of water while surrounded by soil, so the strength of the pool shell matters.
At the heart of every Compass fibreglass pool is its patented Ceramic Core technology — a specialised composite layer developed to add strength and long-term durability where it matters most.
It’s the part of your pool you’ll never see, but one of the most important parts of what you’re buying.

A fibreglass pool shell is constantly exposed to forces from both sides — thousands of litres of water pushing outward, while the surrounding ground places pressure on the shell from outside.
Compass Pools developed its patented Ceramic Core technology to create a stronger, more durable composite structure within the pool shell. Ceramic microspheres are combined with vinyl ester resin to form a specialised layer designed to improve structural strength while resisting water absorption and chemical breakdown.
Ceramic microspheres may be tiny, but their properties make them particularly well suited to a fibreglass pool shell.
Unlike materials that can absorb moisture or deteriorate when exposed to chemicals, the ceramic microspheres used within Compass Pools’ Ceramic Core are extremely strong, chemically inert and non-porous.
Combined with vinyl ester resin, they form a lightweight composite layer engineered to strengthen the pool shell where it matters most.

Once installed, a fibreglass pool becomes part of the ground around it — exposed to changing soil conditions, groundwater, temperature changes and the constant pressure created by thousands of litres of water.
That’s why the strength of the pool shell matters long after installation day.
Compass Pools’ Ceramic Core technology was developed to add strength and durability to the pool structure, helping create a fibreglass pool shell engineered for the conditions it will face throughout its life.
Because a pool isn’t something you buy for a few years. It’s something you build to enjoy for decades.
Ceramic Core isn’t an add-on applied to a finished pool. It forms part of the way Compass fibreglass pool shells are manufactured from the beginning.
Developed by Compass Pools in Australia, the technology combines ceramic microspheres with vinyl ester resin to create a specialised composite layer within the pool structure.
It’s one of the engineering differences behind every Compass fibreglass pool we install — designed to give you greater confidence in what’s underneath the surface, not just what you can see above it.
